Healings and Camping....

Diego and I spent Monday and Tuesday camping near Matagalpa, which is the 5th largest city in Nicaragua and is located up in the mountains. It was a nice break from the heat in the higher elevations. Matagalpa is also the coffee capital of nicaragua, and I finally found a decent espresso. We spent most of the day hitchhiking and catching public transport to reach the waterfall we camped near (Cascada Blanca). We spent the night in a big cave opening right beside the waterfall. Tuesday was basically the same....just in reverse. I found it much easier to hitch hike in foreign countries...even if you do have to rest your feet on a cow's head (I'd be lying if I said I haven't done it...) Wednesday we had Wild at Heartgroup with the young men, which has been going really well. I was asked to speak to the youth here in Candelaria, and spoke a similar message to the one I gave to the youth last Friday. On Thursday morning, I went out visiting houses again and praying for the sick with Rosa. The Lord moved in some Amazing ways. We prayed for this one elderly woman named Julia who had severe joint pain and a temperature. The Lord completely healed her!! Then she brought out her daughter, who had been bed-ridden for almost 5 days with sever migraines. The Lord healed her as well, and the Holy Spirit came over her in such a powerful way! She began to weep, repent, and intercede for her family!!! We then proceeded to the neighbor's house, where the Lord also healed a woman of migraines! So we had three healings! Today (Friday), we spent the morning in Leon running some errands and having lunch. I went with a group this afternoon to visit the homes of some ex-gang members in another neighborhood. The Lord has been moving very powerfully in some of the street gangs down here, and Bismar, one of the local pastors has really taken on the task of reaching and discipling them. Pray for this work to continue! The Lord truly is reaching the ones everyone has written off as unreachable! Thank you all for your continued prayers!

Another week

Hello all,
Its been about a week since I updated last, and a lot has happened. Last Thursday and Friday I spent time with Rosa visiting homes and praying for the sick. The Lord really moved. Then charlie (one of our interpreters), asked me to speak to a small church/youth meeting at someone's house. The Lord led me to speak on being satisfied in Him and His love alone. Spent most of the weekend at the base teaching some more drum lessons and web design to a couple of young guys. Julio, who is the worship leader wanted me to teach him how to make a web page for his worship ministry. We also had a really powerful meeting with 6 of the young men down here Sat. afternoon, and were able to really talk to them about taking stands for their beliefs and purity in the midst of their culture. Sunday we had our normal weekly church service, and afterwords, God led me to pray for one of the young men. God told him that he had the annointing of David to be a leader, worshipper, and warrior for the Lord! Diego and I are going camping today and tommorow in the rainforest! Keep up the prayers! Love you all!

Prayer and Relaxation!

We had Monday and Tuesday off at the mission base. Diego, Barbara and I went to Grenada for the day on Monday and then on to a bed and breakfast on this beautiful volcanic crater lake! It was some really good refresh time with the Lord and the other missionaries. Today, I gave some more drum lessons, and we had our youth service tonight! There is this woman here named Rosa that is one of the most devoted prayer-warriors that I have ever met! She gets up at before sunrise every morning and prays for almost 3 hours. When people in the village are sick, they come and find her. She asked me to go with her in the morning to visit some different houses and pray for people! So keep us in your prayers and expect to hear awesome testimonies of what God can do through prayer!

Day 1-3

So the first few days have been very full, but also very restful. I spent most of the day today giving drum lessons in Spanish, which is enough to make your head want to explode....but I love it, and I love helping musicians and worship teams realize their potential! The first day I was here (Friday), I went and played drums at an outreach for kids and youth in a small village called Santa Matilda. It is a village that is known for its gang-wars and violent crimes, but the Lord is doing amazing things. We played music, and the youth's drama and dance teams performed, then we showed a movie to all of the kids and youth. Then, yesterday I spent most of the day just hanging out with some of the locals until the afternoon, when we had a meeting for some of the young men. We read some out of John Eldredge's Wild at Heart, and talked about what true masculinity looks like. Then today there was children's church, and lots of drums lessons, followed by the regular service. Tomorrow and Tuesday the mission is closed (its like the weekend for all of the mission workers), and a couple of us will be taking a trip to Grenada and Masaya. The Lord is already beginning to fill my time here, so keep praying that He will accomplish through me whatever He desires while I am here!

Arrival and God's Timing

So I have arrived....after almost 24 hours of travel. My flight landed in Managua at 1:30am last night, and we arrived at the mission base at around 4:30am......but I am here. It was completely the Lord that I booked the flight that I did. Here I was just booking the cheapest redeye flight that I could find, arriving at 1am and offering to get a cab to save the Diego and the guys from having to drive to Managua at 1am, when as it turns out, they were already dropping someone off at the airport at midnight! So I couldn't have picked a better flight as far as logistics goes. So I am here everyone! Be praying, and we will see what else the Lord has planned!
